Prof. Modh is Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai. He has held numerous leadership positions, including Professor and Director at Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Management, Mumbai; Professor and Associate Dean at NMIMS University, Mumbai; Honorary Secretary and Chairman of the Aeronautical Society of India, Mumbai Branch; General Secretary of the Air India Aircraft Engineers Association; Deputy General Manager and member of the Business Transformation Group at Air India; and Kokan Prant Sanghchalak of RSS.
He began his career with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India (Indian Engineering Services), but soon transitioned to Air India as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. While at VESIM, the institute achieved NAAC and NBA accreditation and ranked among the top 100 business schools in India's NIRF ranking. Additionally, he serves as an NBA expert and evaluator for the accreditation of business schools nationwide.
In 2001, Professor Modh visited Gujarat after the earthquake and met numerous disaster-affected individuals and NGOs. Following this experience, he published several books on disaster management, including A Citizen’s Guide to Disaster Management, Introduction to Disaster Management, Managing Natural Disasters, and Managing Technological and Environmental Disasters.”
Additionally, Professor Modh authored the books 'Discover the Arjuna in You' and 'Arjuna's 15 Questions', which analyze Arjuna's conversation with Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. He also developed a psychometric test based on the Triguna concept to help individuals understand their personality and leadership styles.
Based on his research into the Indian Knowledge System, he wrote a book on business ethics titled Ethical Management.” He has contributed chapters to the Palgrave Handbook of Servant Leadership,” the “Palgrave Handbook of Workplace Well-Being,” and “New Horizons in Workplace Well-Being,” all published by Palgrave Macmillan, Cham. Professor Modh was invited to speak on these subjects at various universities across the United States, including the University of Southern California, the University of North Carolina, San Diego State University, Ohio State University, and Michigan State University, among others.
In recognition of his work, Professor Modh received the Outstanding Reviewer Award at the Academy of Management Conference in Boston in 2019 (MSR Interest Group) and was honored with the Dewang Mehta Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education in 2014. He was also named among 100 most influential Directors in India at the World Education Congress, 2016 held in Mumbai.
